Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Lumintia Labs collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information obtained through the Lumintia website, contact forms, newsletter signups, quote requests, sample submission workflows, verification portal, email communications, and related services. By using the website or submitting information to Lumintia, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with Lumintia, we may collect: name; company or laboratory name; email address; phone number; mailing or billing address; message content; sample-related details; compound or material names as provided by you; quantity submitted; requested testing panel; order identifiers; payment-related administrative data; shipping details; portal credentials; and technical information reasonably necessary to operate the website and secure submissions.
3. Sources of Information
We collect information directly from you when you complete a website form, email us, request a quote, submit a sample request, communicate about an order, or access a verification page. We may also receive information from shipping providers, payment processors, website hosts, and service providers acting on our behalf.
4. How We Use Information
Lumintia may use collected information to respond to inquiries, coordinate sample intake, perform and document services, send administrative updates, deliver credentials or results, verify access requests, maintain records, prevent fraud, operate the website, comply with law, and protect rights, safety, and security. Lumintia may also retain contact details submitted through a newsletter or interest form for future business communications if and when Lumintia activates such communications.
5. Marketing Communications
At this time, Lumintia does not currently send routine marketing or newsletter emails, even if a visitor enters an email address into a subscription field on the website. If Lumintia later begins sending promotional or newsletter communications, recipients will be provided any legally required notice and unsubscribe method at that time. Administrative communications relating to an inquiry, security event, service update, or accepted engagement may still be sent as needed.
6. Verification Portal and Credentials
If Lumintia provides Test Order IDs, Sample Keys, secure links, or other credentials to access results, those credentials are treated as confidential access tools unless Lumintia expressly designates a record as public. Results are generally issued to the submitting party or its authorized recipient, but the submitting party may choose to publish or share a certificate of analysis or result link on a vendor site or elsewhere. Lumintia may treat a person who presents valid credentials as authorized to access the corresponding private record unless Lumintia has actual notice of unauthorized use.
7. Sharing of Information
Lumintia does not sell personal information for cash consideration. We may share information with service providers that support hosting, security, document delivery, customer support, communications, laboratory operations, legal compliance, and shipping coordination, provided they are authorized to process the information for those purposes. We may also disclose information to comply with law, respond to legal process, investigate misuse, enforce our policies, or protect rights and safety.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Lumintia does not intentionally use non-essential analytics, advertising pixels, or similar marketing trackers at this time. The website host or core website tools may still use technically necessary cookies or similar functions required for security, session handling, spam prevention, page delivery, or basic site operation. If Lumintia later adds analytics, advertising, or tracking tools beyond what is operationally necessary, this Policy may be updated accordingly.
9. Data Retention
Lumintia retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, maintain business and laboratory records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, and protect the integrity of reports and service history. Retention periods may vary based on the type of information and the nature of the transaction.
10. Data Security
Lumintia uses commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, and Lumintia cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Choices and Rights
You may contact Lumintia to request correction of inaccurate contact information, to opt out of marketing communications, or to ask privacy-related questions. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have additional rights regarding access, deletion, correction, portability, or restriction of certain data processing. Lumintia may require reasonable verification before acting on a request.
12. California Notice
If California law applies to your interaction with Lumintia, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and related laws, subject to applicable thresholds, exemptions, and verification requirements. Requests may be directed to support@lumintialabs.com.
13. Children
Lumintia’s website and services are directed to businesses, researchers, and adults. They are not directed to children under 13, and Lumintia does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the public website.
14. International Users
Lumintia operates from the United States unless otherwise stated. If you access the website from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards and law.
